Appointment Options and Self Pay Rates
Each appointment is a step forward—at your pace, in your space.
-
Your first appointment is a welcoming, judgment-free space where we take time to understand the full picture of your mental health. We’ll explore your current concerns, mental health history, medical background, and any personal or social factors that may be impacting your wellbeing. This comprehensive evaluation helps us clarify your needs, define your treatment goals, and discuss care options—including medication management, when appropriate. Everything we discuss is collaborative, evidence-informed, and tailored to you.
-
Initial psychiatric evaluations are scheduled for 60 minutes, though session length may vary depending on clinical need. The self-pay rate for this appointment is $170. If you’re using in-network insurance, your cost will depend on your plan’s copay, coinsurance, or deductible.
Appointments requiring additional time may be billed at a higher CPT code and result in an additional charge. Superbills are available for clients with out-of-network benefits.
-
Follow-up visits are a space to check in on your progress, review how your current medications are working, and address any new symptoms, side effects, or concerns. We’ll continue to revisit your treatment goals and make adjustments to ensure your care stays responsive, supportive, and aligned with your evolving needs.
-
Follow-up sessions typically last 15 to 30 minutes, depending on clinical need. The self-pay rate ranges from $85 to $100, based on session length. For in-network insurance, your cost will depend on your plan’s copay, coinsurance, or deductible.
Longer or more complex visits may be billed at a higher CPT code and result in an additional charge..
Superbills are available for clients with out-of-network benefits.
-
Extended follow-ups are ideal for individuals managing more complex care needs—such as multiple diagnoses, recent medication changes, or the review of lab or diagnostic results. These sessions offer additional time to explore your experiences more deeply, support emotional processing, and integrate brief coping strategies alongside medication management.
-
Extended follow-up sessions are typically 40 minutes, allowing for a more in-depth and flexible check-in. The self-pay rate for these visits is $130. If you’re using in-network insurance, your cost will depend on your plan’s copay, coinsurance, or deductible.
Appointments requiring additional time or clinical complexity may be billed under a higher CPT code and may incur a higher charge. Superbills are available for clients with out-of-network benefits.
Why Choose Self-Pay
We understand that investing in your mental health is a significant decision—and one that should feel grounded in clarity and trust.
At Rooted in Serenity Behavioral Health, we offer self-pay options to provide you with the most transparent, private, and flexible care possible.
In order to make mental health care accessible sliding scale options are available.
-
Confidentiality & Consent
You don’t need to worry about diagnosis codes being submitted to your insurance without your consent.
Your treatment stays between you and your provider—always. No Insurance Restrictions
Self-pay care allows us to make clinical decisions based on what’s best for you—not based on what an insurance company will approve or cover.Clarity & Simplicity
You’ll always know what you’re paying and why. We offer clear rates, no surprise fees, and optional documentation (superbills) if you’d like to submit for out-of-network reimbursement.
-
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate that outlines the expected cost of services—before your visit.
If you're not using insurance or are paying out of pocket, we’ll provide you with a Good Faith Estimate at the time of scheduling.

Rooted in Serenity Behavioral Health is an outpatient telehealth practice that offers psychiatric medication management for adults with mild to moderate mental health concerns. As a solo provider, I do not offer emergency, after-hours, or crisis intervention services.
If you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency—including thoughts of harming yourself or others, severe medication side effects, or a rapid decline in your mental health—please seek immediate care by calling 911 or going to your nearest emergency room. You can also access 24/7 support through:
988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline – Call or text 988
Mobile Crisis Services (Connecticut) – Dial 211 and follow the prompts
Crisis Text Line – Text HOME to 741741
-
While I strive to provide attentive and collaborative care, some needs may require more intensive treatment than can be safely provided in a telehealth outpatient setting. If at any point your symptoms indicate a need for greater support, I may recommend a higher level of care, such as:
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP)
Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP)
Inpatient psychiatric care
These referrals are always made with your safety and well-being in mind.
Please note that Rooted in Serenity does not provide crisis services, inpatient coordination, or 24/7 on-call care. If your ongoing needs fall outside the scope of this practice, I will support a smooth transition to a setting that can best meet those needs.
